A sought after speaker and facilitator, Sharp has served as keynote speaker and media facilitator for national and local trade conferences across the nation including the National Association of Native American Journalist, Philip Morris Billion Dollar Roundtable, Jazz at Lincoln Center Tour Series featuring Wynton Marsalis, Purdue University Disability Awareness Conference Series, Indiana University Diversity in Politics Tour, and INARF (Indiana Association of Rehabilitation Facilities) to name a few.
Known for trailblazing new paths to create better opportunities, Sharp began her career in journalism as one of the first African American female journalist for Great Lakes Publishing serving multiple communities with cutting edge up-to-the minute news reports in the Chicago-land area. Growing in the field and spreading her wings, Sharp joined the Sun-Times Media Group as a staff reporter developing headline stories in crime, education, features.
A skilled photographer, Sharp has also worked with Lawry’s Foods to produce published imagery for a new line of Lawry’s Seasonings during the Lawry’s Foods ‘Tasty Tips’ national promotional tour.
While enjoying a lucrative career in journalism, Sharp sought out a new challenge of marrying the two genres of media and journalism with the business sector of public relations. Sharp, joined a national firm with corporate offices in Chicago honing her skills in niche’ public relations.
